- You were very worried that you wouldn't have anyone to be with, says Isabelle Graveleij.

Friends works preventively against bullying in Sweden.

In their new report, a ten-year analysis has been made of how students and teachers themselves experience safety in schools.

Young girls most vulnerable

The report shows that girls in grades 3–6 are the group whose vulnerability has increased the most when it comes to online abuse, among other things.

The proportion has increased from 21 to 29 percent.

These students also feel the most lonely and anxious at school.

A figure that has been at 33 percent in recent years.

It is to a much higher degree than for other groups.

Lacks motivation

The report also shows that the teachers did not work against bullying to the same extent as before.

- The motivation and knowledge of school staff has decreased significantly, says Frida Warg, head of research and development at Friends.
