Earlier, the Russian Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, said that the Security Department of the UN Secretariat was unable to give clear explanations for the disruption of the visit of the IAEA delegation to the Zaporozhye NPP.
Dujarric said that the IAEA is a completely independent organization and the secretariat does not have the authority to block the activities of the agency.
“In close contact with the IAEA, the UN Secretariat concluded that in Ukraine it has the ability in the field of logistics and security to support any trip of the IAEA to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant from Kyiv, if, of course, the Ukrainian and Russian authorities agree to this,” RIA quotes News of his word.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow strongly condemns attempts to obstruct the IAEA mission to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
