“Brittney Greiner’s defense team filed an appeal against the verdict of the Khimki court,” Interfax’s lawyers said in a statement.
On August 4, the Khimki Court of the Moscow Region sentenced Greiner to nine years in prison for drug smuggling and possession.
Greiner was detained on February 18 at Sheremetyevo Airport.
Vapes (cartridges for an electronic heating system) with cannabis oil were found in her luggage.
