China News Service, August 15th. According to Taiwan's "China Times" report, August 14th is the International "Comfort Women" Memorial Day. The Tainan Comfort Women's Human Rights Equality Promotion Association Memorial Park held a memorial service in front of the comfort women's memorial bronze statue. Ma Ying-jeou, the former leader of the Taiwan region, and Zhao Shaokang, chairman of "China Guang", attended the event, denounced the atrocities of "comfort women" by the Japanese army during World War II, and called on the DPP authorities to seek apology and compensation from Japan.

In 2018, Kuomintang city councilor Xie Longjie planned to set up the first bronze statue of "comfort women" in Taiwan at the intersection of Zhongyi Road and Zhongzheng in the Central and Western District. The bronze statue caused heated discussions in Taiwan at that time.

Ma Ying-jeou pointed out that the United Nations officially certified the crimes of the Japanese army, but Taiwan did not see the Tsai Ing-wen authorities fulfill their promise to help the "comfort women" seek justice.

Taiwan's "comfort women" have passed away one after another. At present, there is only one person left in Taiwan. Ma Ying-jeou said that Tsai Ing-wen had promised to Taiwanese "comfort women" grandma that the claims against Japan would be dealt with as soon as possible, but the DPP has been in power for 5 years. Many times, it has not been fulfilled.

He denounced that Tsai Ing-wen should get rid of the bad habit of being ignorant of promises and trustworthiness, fulfilling her promise, and seeking an official apology and compensation from the Japanese government, and should revise the 2019 syllabus to rectify the term "comfort women".
