Normally, grass, leaves and fallen fruit go in the same container when you visit one of the region's environmental facilities.

Today, however, eleven facilities are beginning to sort out the fallen fruit from everything else.

The result?

If this year's season is close to the record year of 2018 – when 777 tons of fallen fruit were collected – it is equivalent to enough biogas to travel 27 times around the world in a medium-sized car.

What should be considered when throwing fall fruit?

- Great if you put it in a good container already at home and empty the bag.

No cardboard or plastic is allowed, says Natalie Löfgren, environmental informant at Vafab.

Handing in fallen fruit for recycling is good - but in the clip Natalie Löfgren tells how you can do even more good with your fruit.
