Sky News writes about it.

"Salman Rushdie and his supporters are to blame for what happened to him... Freedom of speech does not justify the insults that Salman Rushdie inflicted on religion and its shrines," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said.

He also noted that Iran has no other information about the attack other than what appeared in the media.

The 75-year-old writer Salman Rushdie was attacked on August 12 in New York.

A man armed with a knife stabbed him several times.

The writer was taken by helicopter to the hospital, where he underwent many hours of surgery.

Two days later, it became known that Rushdie was disconnected from the ventilator.
