The Chinese military announced today (15th) that it had conducted practical training in response to the visit of U.S. House and Senate members to Taiwan.

Tensions are rising again in the Taiwan Strait, which has been quiet for several days after China's 'counterfeiting' military action in response to US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan on the 2nd.

"On the 15th, the Eastern Front organized various types of soldiers in the sea and airspace around the island of Taiwan and conducted patrol and combat training in preparation for combined battle," said Sui, a spokesperson for the People's Liberation Army Eastern Front on the WeChat official account.

"This is aimed at seriously threatening the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait through the continued political maneuvers of the United States and Taiwan," he said, suggesting that the exercise was in response to the US delegation's visit to Taiwan.

Five U.S. House of Representatives and Senators, including Senator Ed Markey (Democratic Party), arrived in Taiwan on the 14th on a US C-40C plane.

"The theater unit will take all necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the sovereignty of the country and the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait and the region," said Sui, spokesman for the Eastern Front of the People's Liberation Army.

In this regard, the Taiwan Central News Agency reported that Chinese military fighters entered the Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) in northern, western and southwestern Taiwan seven times from early morning to 10 am on the 15th, and the Taiwanese military responded through warning broadcasts and other information.

Wang Won-bin, spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said at a regular briefing on the 15th that the visit of US lawmakers to Taiwan "openly violated the 'one China' principle and the provisions of the three Sino-US Joint Statements." and gave a seriously wrong signal to Taiwan's independence and division forces."
