) warmly welcomed Taiwan's longtime friend Senator Mark and his cross-party delegation,” the ministry said in a statement.
Earlier, the American Institute in Taiwan informed that a delegation of US congressmen would pay an official visit to Taiwan on August 14-15.
It is noted that during the meeting, the parties intend to discuss bilateral US-Taiwan relations, as well as issues of regional security, trade and investment.
On Aug. 8, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Wu Qian said the PRC urges the United States to respect Beijing's overriding interests and give up illusions about using Taiwan to control China.
