One dead and 17 injured in a runaway accident in Pennsylvania, USA

At least one person was killed and 17 others injured on Saturday when a car rammed into a crowd outside a bar in Berwick, Pennsylvania, where a group was raising money for the victims of a recent fire, police and local media said.

Authorities brought two counts of murder to a 24-year-old man on Sunday in connection with the death in front of the pub, and a separate death.

Police say that after Adrian Oswaldo Sora Reyes shocked the crowd at around 6 p.m. (2200 GMT), the suspect drove to nearby Neskobec, where police said he had killed a woman.

Police did not identify the woman or give details of the motive.

However, the Times Leader newspaper quoted the Lucerne County Coroner's Office as saying that the 56-year-old woman was the suspect's mother.

Pennsylvania State Police said a judge ordered Reyes to be held without bail after Sunday's hearing.
