Store manager Mikael Burman at Ekerö got the idea to catch customers passing by the grocery store on horseback. He had a parking lot built for horses at the beginning of the summer and since then it has been used extensively. - I thought there was a need for a place where riders and horses had a place to rest, says Mikael Burman, store manager.
Ekerö municipality is one of the most horse-intensive municipalities in Sweden.
There are more than 1,900 horses and roughly 130 stables here.
This means that there is approximately one horse per 13 inhabitants, according to the municipality.
