A fire at a Christian church near Cairo, Egypt's capital, has killed 41 people, including young children.

Local authorities are investigating the detailed cause of the fire, assuming that an electrical equipment malfunctioned.

On the 14th in Egypt, a fire broke out at a Christian sect, a Coptic church in Giza near the capital Cairo.



The fire was extinguished after about two hours, but local officials and others have said 41 people have died so far in the fire.



Church officials said 18 of the dead were young children, and another 14 were taken to hospital with injuries.



At the time of the fire, a large number of people had gathered at the church and Sunday services were being held.
