Double-sided speed cameras, a new innovation for more safety on the roads

For some time now, a new generation radar has been installed along the roads.

It flashes the same vehicle twice, in front and behind.

For the new prefect of Morbihan, Pascal Bolo, motorists have good reason to fear the police.

And when the soldiers are not present at the roadside, the machine takes over.

"There is a network of fixed speed cameras which are also effective."

Verify driver identity

And for some time now, beware, new generation radars have been able to flash the front and rear of the same offending vehicle.

For the captain of the gendarmerie, Joseph Régnault, this is a real plus "in certain cases, for example, of vehicles which have plates on the back such as motorized two-wheelers. It will allow them to be recognized. It is also useful on cars by being able to compare the plate at the rear which may have either fallen off or been damaged. We finally saw the consistency of the identification."

Identification of the vehicle, but especially of the person driving it with a photo taken from the front.

Impossible now to accuse someone else of having pressed the mushroom to avoid losing points.

"We will also be able to have information on the driver. It avoids attempts to evade the verbalization when the motorist was in possession of his car at that time."

With its double-sided radars, small arrangements with family or friends are over.

But the authorities especially hope that the particularly heavy traffic during this crossover of August 15 will discourage crazy people from driving.
