3 soldiers killed in Israeli strikes in Syria

Three soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in Israeli strikes from Lebanese airspace, targeting sites in Damascus and Tartous countryside, according to the official Syrian news agency SANA.

And the agency quoted a military source as saying that "the Israeli air force carried out an air attack with bursts of missiles ... targeting some points in the countryside of Damascus, and this coincided with another attack from the direction of the sea targeting some points south of Tartus governorate," adding, "This led to the death of three. soldiers, wounding three others, and causing some material losses.

For its part, the Syrian Al-Ekhbariya channel said that "an Israeli attack targeted points in the vicinity of Tartus Governorate."

For its part, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that "Israeli strikes targeted military sites of the Syrian forces in the southern countryside of Tartus."

In a statement, the observatory confirmed the killing of "three members of the Syrian forces and the wounding of others as a result of the Israeli targeting of an air defense base and a radar in the village of Abu Afsa," which is located five kilometers south of the city of Tartus.

The observatory indicated that the targeted sites are about eight kilometers from the Russian base.

The observatory also reported that "missiles likely to be from the Syrian anti-aircraft guns fell in the Al-Qutayfa and Qalamoun area in Damascus countryside."
