According to the head of the Finnish Foreign Ministry, Finland, with the help of this scheme, will slow down the issuance of tourist visas to Russians.

He also noted that this initiative can be implemented at the level of legislation.

Earlier, Yle wrote that, according to a survey, more than half of the inhabitants of Finland would support the termination of the issuance of Schengen tourist visas to Russian citizens.

The head of the consular service of the Finnish Foreign Ministry, Jussi Tanner, also said that Helsinki intends to limit transit tourism from Russia to Europe on Schengen visas issued by Finnish missions.
