According to the press service of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, the system will quickly recognize the infection in the early stages of the disease.

“So, one of the residents of Technopolis Moscow has developed innovative test systems for detecting the antigen of the monkeypox virus in the laboratory using a special method, as well as express tests for determining both the virus itself and antibodies to the infection,” RIA Novosti quotes the head Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Vladislav Ovchinsky.

The company has created three new test systems: the first one diagnoses diseases by enzyme immunoassay in the laboratory in 40 minutes, the second one detects monkeypox virus antigen in the early stages of infection in 15-20 minutes, the third one shows the presence of IgM and IgG antibodies (that is, the body's immune response to a dangerous virus) also within 15-20 minutes.

As reported, the products developed by IMBIAN LAB are at the stage of readiness for clinical trials and further registration.

The only monkeypox patient in Russia was discharged from a hospital in St. Petersburg on August 2.
