The report says that the captured Ukrainian marines, National Guardsmen, representatives of the airborne assault and ground forces decided to remain on the Russian-controlled side of the territory due to their unwillingness to fight and the fear of being on the front line again.
The ministry also released a video of Oleksandr Zhyzhin, senior sailor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who had surrendered and said he did not want to return to Ukraine.
Earlier, a captured soldier of the 53rd mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian security forces, Vadim Agafonov, told reporters that Ukrainian soldiers were being prepared for an attack on the Donbass and Russia.
