- I have received three alarms, one of which was in Gothenburg, but then I was too far away.

Then last week I received two SMS alerts near where I live.

When an SOS alert comes to the SMS lifeguard app, it screams loudly.

- This alarm cannot be missed because it goes through the bones and marrow, says Anders Sandberg.

In the event of an alarm about suspected cardiac arrest, you answer whether you are available for emergency or not.

If you have the opportunity, you go to the scene as quickly as you can and start cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR.

Crucial for survival

- It is often very messy on site.

I focus on starting cardiopulmonary resuscitation because it is absolutely crucial for the survival of the brain cells.

Since it can take time for the ambulance to arrive at the scene, the big win with SMS lifesavers is that they can start CPR immediately.

When the paramedics arrive, they take over.

In the clip, Anders Sandberg talks about the chances of survival in the event of a cardiac arrest.
