According to the “Capitol Hill” and the “New York Times”, court records released on August 12, local time, show that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating former President Trump on three alleged federal charges: violating the Espionage Act and obstructing justice. Impartiality and unlawful handling of government records resulted in federal law enforcement obtaining a search warrant for its Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

According to a report by CNN on the 12th, the search warrant was signed on August 5, and FBI agents waited until August 8 to start a search of Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate.

Investigators have the authority to seize any document or record bearing classified identification or related to "transmission of defense information or classified material," according to the unsealed search warrant.

The search warrant also authorizes the seizure of “any evidence of knowingly altering, destroying, or concealing the government’s presidential archives, or any document marked with confidentiality.”
