Ukraine again accuses Russia of bombing the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant

Ukraine has again accused Russian forces of bombing the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in the south of the country and denying entry to an inspection team from the International Atomic Energy Agency.

"Russia resorted to serious provocations and bombed the nuclear power plant itself. The Russians are known for their detailed plans of cunning, sabotage and cover-up," Ukrainian envoy to the United Nations, Sergei Kislitsia, told a meeting of the UN Security Council in New York.

Kisletsya added that Russia's destructive behavior, unjustified conditions and bombing prevented a visit by IAEA experts, and warned of the consequences of the incident.

"None of us can stop the winds if the radioactivity spreads, but we can stop the terrorist state together," he said, referring to Russia.

Kiselitsya called on the occupying Russian forces to remove the mines from the site and withdraw all forces, weapons and equipment.

He added that Kyiv was ready to ensure safe passage for mission personnel of the International Atomic Energy Agency through the territory controlled by Ukrainian forces but that they must be accompanied by military experts due to the situation.
