Asia Shiany Pérez-Cheng: "Spain is the western democracy that mistreats Taiwan the most"
An Italian has been
rescued from a
collapsed tunnel near
the Vatican
.
The Police suspect that the man could have excavated the gallery to
gain access to a bank
.
The rescue has lasted eight hours and the man is admitted to hospital under police custody.
Agents have also arrested another man whom they charge with
damaging public property
.
Officers believe the injured man is part of a gang that was trying to rob the bank.
At the time of the tunnel collapse,
four men
were working and three of them were able to escape.
The tunnel began at a
vacant store
located near two banks that had been recently rented.
"We all thought they were renovating it," a neighbor told the AFP news agency.
The Italian media maintain that the group's intention was to rob the bridge
on August 15
, a holiday in Italy, when the city empties.
The Police spokesman, in statements to AFP, has stated that they continue to investigate and do not rule out that they are thieves.
