The highest temperature measured in Sweden during the month of August is 36.8 degrees in Holma, on 9 August 1975.

- We won't get really that hot this weekend, says Tora Tomasdottir.

But the weekend will offer bright sunshine and high temperatures throughout the country.

- During Sunday, the heat will move further north and it will be a bit over 20 degrees all the way up along the Norrland coast.

Thunder and rain await after the weekend.

- Until Wednesday, it will be unstable throughout the country.
