While the Constitutional Council ratified the final results on Thursday evening, the presidential coalition Benno Bokk Yaakaar, which won 82 seats, can therefore count on an additional deputy, allowing them to obtain an absolute majority.

A decision that caused a lot of reaction this morning in Dakar

, reports our correspondent

Théa Ollivier

.

The name of Pape Diop is on all the front pages.

He "

 saves the Macky

", according to the daily

Kritik'

and "

 renews the life insurance

" of the head of state, according to

24 hours

.

But Pape Diop is also perceived as the one who "

blocks

" the inter-coalition of the opposition Yewwi Askan Wi-Wallu Senegal, according to the

Tribune

.

He even smashes his dream, because "

 cohabitation is postponed sine die

 ", adds

Vox Populi.

Following Pape Diop's declaration to join their parliamentary group, the Benno Bokk Yaakar presidential coalition welcomed a decision taken "

with honor and responsibility

".

It thus contributes decisively to guaranteeing the stability of our institutions

," the ruling camp said in a statement.

On the side of the opposition coalition Yewwi Askan Wi, one of the leaders, Cheikh Tidiane Youm is "

not surprised

" that Pape Diop joins the presidential camp, even if he recalls that the latter had been very critical of the regime in place during his campaign.

Macky Sall will not be able to govern quietly, even with this additional seat

", he believes, while the majority of Benno Bokk Yaakar remains very short, because the inter-coalition has 80 seats.

The leaders of the other opposition coalition, Wallu Senegal, led by former President Abdoulaye Wade, have planned to speak at the end of the day on Friday.
