According to him, the declaration adopted by the deputies in Latvia has no legal force and is not supported by weighty evidence.

He noted that state sponsorship of terrorism involves organized support for politically motivated violence by the government of one country against another country "outside the context of a war between them."

“I am not aware of any evidence that Russia is involved in any such activities within the EU,” Beck said.

Earlier, the Latvian Parliament decided to declare Russia a "state supporting terrorism."

He also called on EU countries to stop issuing visas to citizens of Russia and Belarus.

In turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry called the corresponding decision of the Latvian Seimas Russophobia.
