A French spokeswoman said that the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (French Ministry of Foreign Affairs) received important documents related to possible crimes by the Syrian regime forces in the Tadamon neighborhood in Damascus in 2013.

The French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added that the alleged facts are likely to constitute the most serious international crimes, especially crimes against humanity and war crimes.

The spokeswoman also said that her country is still mobilizing to ensure that those responsible for their actions are held accountable before the courts, and that achieving justice for the victims is a prerequisite for building lasting peace in Syria after a decade of crimes committed against the Syrian people.

Last April, the British Guardian newspaper published an investigation of what it said were crimes committed by the Syrian regime forces in the Damascus neighborhood of Tadamon in 2013.

A video recording obtained by the newspaper shows a Syrian intelligence officer executing civilians who were arrested at security checkpoints in the area.

This recording is only one of 27 video recordings of similar massacres in which more than 280 Syrians were killed by elements of the Syrian regime's intelligence, according to an investigation prepared by researchers Ansar Shahoud and Ugur Umit Ungor, workers at the Center for the Holocaust and Genocide at the University of Amsterdam.
