On the afternoon of August 11, local time, two roller coasters collided in Legoland in Ginzburg, southern Germany.

According to the information released by the police, at least 34 people were injured in the accident, two of them were seriously injured and must be sent to the hospital for treatment.

In addition to more than a dozen ambulances, three helicopters participated in the emergency rescue.

A police spokesman said the first roller coaster stopped at the entrance as required, but the latter one did not, thus causing the accident.

A police spokesman said the speed of the roller coaster and details of the collision could not be communicated at this time, and authorities would conduct further investigations through existing video footage.

It is reported that this is the second roller coaster accident in Germany recently.

Just last weekend, a woman tragically died after falling off a roller coaster in the Rhineland-Palatinate state.
