Before he abruptly stole the watch from a tourist's wrist, two plainclothes officers had already had their eye on him.

The suspicious attitude of this 25-year-old Moroccan man had aroused the interest of the police after seeing

how he followed a young woman to the door

of her home.

Shortly after he entered a clothing store, in the Salamanca district, where he committed the misdeed.

She violently approached a client until he managed to get

her luxurious Hublot watch, valued at about 12,400 euros

.

At that moment the two officers hurried after him.

An off-duty civil guard from the UCO joined the chase, on the run, down Calle Lagasca (direction Plaza de Colón), who, being close to the alleged criminal, and

after identifying himself, tried to stop him.

The young Moroccan turned and gave him a strong punch that hit the civil guard in the face,

who fell to the ground.

His escape lasted almost a kilometer, reaching the height of Paseo de la Castellana, 1. But when he was caught up by the two municipal police officers, he turned around,

offering resistance, and wounded one of them.

The Samur went to the scene of the events, attending to the staff of the Armed Institute -who was later assisted at the Quirónsalud clinic-,

the municipal police officer and the victim of the robbery

, apparently an Argentine tourist, injured after the struggle with his attacker, since it presented "

scratches and erosions

" from the dispute.

This event completes the trilogy of arrests experienced so far this week in the Salamanca district, where the Municipal Police, this time coordinated with the National Police, arrested a couple of motorcyclists on Tuesday who, fleeing from a police stop,

they jumped traffic lights and drove in the wrong direction

in a "movie" chase that lasted two kilometers.

The authorities confiscated all kinds of gadgets

"compatible with carrying out a robbery"

, such as an iron mallet, screwdrivers, chisels and scissors to cut cables.
