Two years ago, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission issued an authoritative interpretation that the prosecution's investigation into the military preference of the then Justice Minister's son Choo Mi-ae and that Minister Chu's duties did not constitute a conflict of interest.
The so-called 'Chu Mi-ae Division' was placed in the investigation command unit and criticized it.
[Hyun-hee Jeon
/Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (National Assembly Political Affairs Committee, last September 2020): Minister Choo Mi-ae exercised the right to direct a specific investigation, and in that case, it was confirmed whether it was because it was related to his job.]
He said that if the same logic was applied to the prosecution's investigation into Jeong Kyung-shim, his wife during the tenure of the Minister of Justice, it would have been concluded that there was no conflict of interest.
She was at odds with the previous chairperson, who had commented that she was job-relevant and that expulsion from work was also possible.
It was revealed that the Board of Audit and Inspection is investigating such authoritative interpretations in this special audit.
The plan is to examine not only the inspection of service discipline such as attendance and attendance, but also whether undue influence was exercised in the process of interpretation of the authority.
Byung-ho Yoo, Secretary General of the Board of Audit and Inspection, also emphasized the need for an audit by using the phrase “a tip that cannot be overlooked” at the National Assembly last month.
In response to this, the former chairman countered it head-on through SNS, saying, "Be thankful after you have thoroughly studied and understood the criteria for interpretation of the authority," and said, "I am embarrassed to say that I am grateful for work and attendance. It was political repression and pressure to resign.”
