Scholz said this during a press conference, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, he has not yet thought about the question of when Putin will be able to visit Germany again.

Answering a clarifying question under what conditions he considers the visit of the Russian leader to Germany possible, Scholz said that, first of all, it is necessary to end the hostilities in Ukraine and conclude a peace treaty.

“I think one thing is absolutely clear, that [the special operation] must be ended,” the German chancellor said.

Earlier, Strategic Culture columnist Martin Jay wrote in his article that Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron may soon come into conflict with the EU authorities in Brussels in search of a new dialogue with Vladimir Putin.
