“Bayazitova was taken to a pre-trial detention center last night, she is being held in a six-seat cell.

One of her neighbors is suspected of causing grievous bodily harm, others of robbery,” the human rights activist said.

He clarified that this is the so-called “quarantine cell”, where the detainees are kept for up to three weeks while they are being tested for COVID-19 and other infections.

At the same time, permanent cameras are selected for them, taking into account legal requirements and psychological compatibility.

“There is a TV and a refrigerator in the cell, but Bayazitova’s cellmates complained about cockroaches, the lack of envelopes and paper for letters to relatives and equipment for cleaning the cell,” the human rights activist said.

According to him, Bayazitova stated that she had chronic diseases, in connection with which the members of the commission recommended that the administration ensure control of her health.

Arrested along with Bayazitova, media technologist Olga Arkharova and PR manager Inna Churilova, who are involved in the same case, are also in this pre-trial detention center, but for the duration of the quarantine they are kept one by one in punishment cells where there are no TVs and refrigerators.

“This is not a punishment, it’s just that the pre-trial detention center is overcrowded, there are a hundred women over the limit, and the administration uses any premises to accommodate those arrested,” RT’s interlocutor explained.

He also clarified that Bayazitova stated that she did not admit guilt.

“Arkharova said that she partially admitted her guilt, she is cooperating with the investigation and does not understand why she should be kept in a pre-trial detention center, especially since her elderly parents are in her care.

Churilina said that she admitted her guilt, ”Ivanov said.

The day before, the court until October 7 arrested Alexandra Bayazitova, who at various times was an economic correspondent for various Russian media.
