Greta Thunberg is not alone on the activist list according to Vouge Scandinavia.

According to the newspaper, she now has eight European followers.

Two of them come from Sápmi – Sara Elvira Kuhmunen, chair Sáminuorra and Sofia Jannok, artist.

Kuhmunen and Jannok fight side by side

The artist Sofia Jannok is named because of her fight against the exploitations of Sápmi, which she often conducts openly, through her social media channels.

At her side, Sáminuorra's president Sara-Elvira Kuhmunen, who according to Vogue, is fighting a similar battle through demonstrations and social media.

"Important to make yourself heard"

Sara-Elvira Kuhmunen tells NRK Sápmi that she is pleased that the newspaper has also named Sami activists.

What happens in the world affects the lands and with it also the lives of the Sami people, she says.

For Kuhmunen, it is important to make herself heard on the climate issue, because as a reindeer herding Sami she sees how much the climate has changed.
