Last week, the United States announced that it had killed al-Qaeda leader Aiman al-Zawahiri during an anti-terrorist operation in Afghanistan.

A little later, Israel killed two Islamist leaders.

We clarify with the Göttingen professor of international law and former federal constitutional judge Andreas Paulus whether such operations are permissible under international law and what influence September 11, 2001 has on the law.

At the beginning of May, the European Parliament passed a proposal for a new European electoral law: in future, 28 MEPs are to be elected via transnational lists and a 3.5 percent threshold clause is to apply in the large member states.

In addition, the EU parliamentarians want to anchor binding quotas for women in the electoral law.

The Viennese law professor Monika Polzin vehemently rejects the latter – because, in her opinion, quotas for women in the right to vote violate the EU treaties and the Basic Law.

Also in this program: An analysis of the key points of the Federal Ministers Karl Lauterbach (SPD) and Marco Buschmann (FDP) on the Infection Protection Act, an update on the party order proceedings against the former Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder (SPD), a "fair judgment" on car sharing and a listener's question on the Ukraine war.
