The children in the family had been granted support family as the guardian was in great need of relief and recovery.

But it took almost 10 months before the municipality offered a support family for one of the children.

IVO believes this is an unreasonable amount of time, and thinks it is particularly serious that a child has had to wait so long.

The authority is now applying to the administrative court for the municipality to pay a fee of SEK 17,200.

The municipality has replied to IVO that the delay was due to the fact that the intervention in question had not previously been granted in the municipality, and that they therefore had no support family available.

They advertised on social media, among other things, without any success.

However, IVO believes that the municipality did not show that they worked actively enough to ensure that the child received a supportive family.

The child's siblings had also been granted a support family earlier, and there too the municipality is criticized for delays.
