European Commission: discussions on the issue of tourist visas for Russians are taking place at the EU level

This was stated by the representative of the press service of the European Commission at a briefing.

“Discussions are taking place at the EU level with the EU countries in order to have up-to-date information on recent events and to ensure coordinated actions,” RIA Novosti quotes the response of an EC representative to the question of what will happen if a separate country of the union stops issuing tourist visas to Russian citizens.

Earlier it became known that the EU is discussing a new package of anti-Russian sanctions, including the issue of stopping the issuance of Schengen visas.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Germany announced the absence of a unified position on this issue.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov noted that attempts to isolate the Russians or Russia are futile.
