31 people,
one of them seriously, have been injured in
a roller coaster accident at the
Legoland
amusement park
in Günzburg, Germany.
According to the Police spokesman, the accident occurred in the "
Feuerdrache
" attraction when one of the trains braked abruptly and the one behind him hit him.
The "Feuerdrache" roller coaster first goes through a covered and dark area of the park, then goes out into the open air and goes through a section with slopes and curves.
The attraction can reach
29 kilometers per hour
at the moment of greatest speed.
According to the Legoland spokesman, the passengers of the two trains, who had stayed five meters high, have already been evacuated.
The rescue has taken longer than expected due to the security bars being blocked.
The amusement park has remained open and the reason for the accident is still unknown.
This Thursday's accident is not the first to happen in Germany so far this week.
This Saturday a 57-year-old
woman died
in the Klotten amusement park after
falling from a roller coaster.
