Icelandic drone pilot Bjorn Steinbekk witnessed a magnificent spectacle on August 4th.

The man undertook to film the volcanic eruption in progress in the valley of Meradalir (Iceland).

Filmed at night, the scene shows lava violently emerging from a crack in the earth.

The bubbling liquid seems to form a swimming pool, before flowing like the meanders of a fiery river.

The volcanic eruption began on Wednesday August 3 near the site of Mount Fagradalsfjall, about forty kilometers from the capital Reykjavik (Iceland), indicates

It was accompanied by more than 10,000 earthquakes.

Despite the absence of ash clouds, the authorities called for vigilance in terms of gaseous pollution, due to the high level of fluoride which accumulates near the ground and in puddles.
