A large-scale landslide occurred in Mt. Baekdu, prompting tourists to evacuate.



On the 10th (local time), Chinese media such as the Pengpai Shimbun reported that a sudden landslide had occurred near Yongmunbong Peak, North Pacos, on the Baekdu Mountains in Jilin Province, China on the afternoon of the previous day.

In a video filmed by tourists who were nearby at the time of the accident, countless rocks and silt was poured down the steep slope of the mountain at a frightening speed towards the tourists.



In just 10 seconds, the whole area was filled with white dust, and many tourists who witnessed the landslide in front of them ran away in confusion.



Fortunately, it was confirmed that there were no casualties.



However, at the time of the landslide, tourists from all over China flocked to the site during the summer holidays and vacations, so it is possible that a large-scale loss of life occurred.

“Recently, a small landslide occurred due to a series of rains,” the management authority of the Baekdusan Tourist Area said.



"Relevant ministries have taken measures to prevent landslides, and the tourist zone is currently open to normal," he said.



Meanwhile, there are four courses to climb Baekdusan, East, West, South, and North. Dongpa is in North Korea and the other three are in China.



Among them, the Bukpa course has a lot to see, and it is especially famous as a tourist attraction attracting many tourists during the peak season from July to August.
