- It is a very strange story, in 25 years in the profession I have not come across anything like it.

An outwardly ordinary person trying to hire someone to kill an insurance agent, that's a little odd, said Deputy District Attorney Charlotta Tanner.

The background and motive must be an insurance case where the defendant felt prejudiced by the case manager and then ordered a murder on him.

SEK 100,000 was offered

According to the indictment, the order was made via two letters that the suspect woman sent in February this year.

One letter was received by the man she tried to hire and the other by the man's family members.

In both letters, the suspect tried to hire the man.

She offered a sum of SEK 100,000 for the work she wanted done within a week.

Therefore, the woman is charged with aiding and abetting murder in two cases.

The letters also included threats against the man and his family.

As a result, the woman is also charged with illegal threats.

Denies crime

The man the woman tried to hire is previously known to the police and it was also through him that the case came to the police's attention.

- He spoke to his social services officer and from there came the report to the police, says Charlotta Tanner.

According to the indictment, the crimes must have taken place in Linköping.

Since March 6, the woman has been in custody awaiting trial, she denies any crime.
