“We slept comfortably too”

More than 70 experts and around forty technicians from all over the country took part in the operation to rescue them.

A Canadian military plane had brought 26 tons of advanced machinery and equipment this Sunday.

President Luis Abinader posted a video in which he greets the two miners, who appear smiling and in good spirits.

"The whole country was watching you, very happy," he told them.

One of the two miners assured that they had benefited from “good conditions” underground: “ventilation, water, food, everything.

“We slept comfortably too, it made the stay less difficult”, even if “the first days were complicated”, he added.
