- We want to show that nothing is impossible and hope that the Vasaloppet picks up on this so that it can become a real "wheelchair vase" in the future, says the initiator Anders Andrae, who rides a wheelchair.

Vasaloppet's summer week starts on Friday with the bicycle vase, but already last week the wheelchair-bound group started their journey between Sälen and Mora.

They follow the route of the cycle race but have divided the race into eight stages.

The participants ride in a permobile or wheelchair together with eight helpers.

- I would prefer to ride the bike case, but I can't, so it had to be this instead, says Andreas Eriksson, who rides a permobile.

- They think we are in the way.
