“Subject to the availability of funds, the United States Embassy will provide small grants to Ukrainian non-governmental, non-profit organizations (NPOs) to implement projects in collaboration with colleagues from the education sector (high schools, colleges and universities),” the document specifies.

Another central theme is the so-called “civic education”.

Here we are talking about the development of a methodology for teaching courses, "primarily history, in secondary, secondary specialized and higher educational institutions."

In addition, the description of the grant refers to the high importance of cooperation between Ukrainian educational institutions with local administrations and businesses for the development of the economy of the country's regions, as well as the importance of career counseling for people with disabilities.

It is noted that projects under the program should be aimed at the Ukrainian audience, take place in Ukraine and contain a "substantial American component."

The amount of one grant can vary from $25,000 to $50,000. Ukrainian non-governmental and non-profit organizations can apply for funding.

As political scientist Ivan Mezyuho recalled, the United States has been sponsoring similar projects in Ukraine for many years.

“This is a very long story related to the US task of shaping Western-oriented youth... Through programs in education, culture or art, active youth were nurtured in Ukraine, very often of a nationalist or pseudo-democratic persuasion, who took part in activities that undermined the state system of Ukraine .

I think that even after the completion of the special military operation, the United States will allocate money for educational projects on the Ukrainian case, ”the expert explained in a conversation with RT.

According to Mezukho, in the future, the United States will continue to finance such initiatives in Ukraine in order to influence political processes within the country.

“We must be aware that Americans set themselves long-term, not short-term goals.

Long-term goals involve the implementation of educational and cultural projects that will allow us to grow political activists who are hostile towards Russia, the traditional way of life of Ukrainians and loyal to the West and the Western way of life, culture and values,” he concluded.

Earlier it was reported that the United States intended to allocate $175,000 for an English language study program in Ukraine, which, among other things, will help “strengthen ties” between Kyiv and Washington.
