The head of the Pentagon said that NATO does not seek confrontation with Russia

Austin said this during a press conference in Riga following a meeting with Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks.

“Let's be clear: we are not looking for a confrontation with Russia and do not pose a threat to her,” he said.

At the same time, the head of the Pentagon said that Washington's position is that an attack on one of its NATO allies "means an attack on everyone."

Earlier, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov, commenting on the statement of the United States Department of Defense on the allocation of military assistance to Kyiv for another $1 billion, said that in this way the American authorities were "adding fuel to the fire" of the Ukrainian crisis.
