Earlier, the military-civilian administration of Energodar reported that on the night of August 7, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant from the Uragan MLRS.

Igor Vishnevetsky, Deputy Director of the Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control of the Russian Foreign Ministry, expressed concern that the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by the Armed Forces of Ukraine could lead to disaster.

Also, the head of the National Defense Control Center of Russia, Mikhail Mizintsev, warned that in the event of an accident at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant due to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a global man-made disaster would occur, which would exceed the scale of the consequences of accidents at nuclear power plants in Chernobyl and Fukushima.

Volodymyr Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, suggested that the Ukrainian military deliberately shelled the ZNPP, trying to force Russia to withdraw its military from there.
