Rogov called the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant "unacceptable."

“We see the way out of the situation in the following: it is the unhindered admission of IAEA observers to the Zaporozhye NPP, on which we have been actively working for a long time, and the further liberation of the post-Ukrainian space,” he told RIA Novosti.

Rogov stressed that the deliberate shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine poses a threat to nuclear security for European countries.

In his opinion, the Kyiv authorities, by shifting responsibility for the shelling of the Zaporizhzhya NPP to Russia, are trying to protect themselves from the consequences in the event of serious problems at the plant.

Earlier, the military-civilian administration of Energodar reported that on the night of August 7, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant from the Uragan MLRS.

Igor Vishnevetsky, Deputy Director of the Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control of the Russian Foreign Ministry, expressed concern that the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by the Armed Forces of Ukraine could lead to disaster.

Also, the head of the National Defense Control Center of Russia, Mikhail Mizintsev, warned that in the event of an accident at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant due to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a global man-made disaster would occur, which would exceed the scale of the consequences of accidents at nuclear power plants in Chernobyl and Fukushima.
