It was at the beginning of August that a user told staff that he had been raped by a care recipient who lives in another LSS residence.

The persons must then have had a relationship with each other.

At the time of the incident, the user must have repeatedly said that she did not want to, but the sexual assault must have continued.

Has been offered crisis assistance

When staff were made aware of the incident, talks were initiated with the persons concerned, staff and managers.

The user has been offered crisis assistance and help reporting the incident to the police.

How do you proceed now?

- This is a failure of course.

We have set in motion a plan to initiate further skills development on how we manage relationships.

So that the staff feel safe to talk about these things with the users, says Marie Langemark.

When the Social Administration has finished the investigation, the incident may be reported to IVO.
