Since her first arrest, Russian justice has made the case of Marina Ovsiannikova an example and seems to be relentless against the one who is seen by some as an anti-war muse in Russia.

According to his lawyer, an investigation was opened for "

spreading false information

" about the army after messages posted on social networks.

Arrested on Wednesday, the journalist could now be dealing with criminal justice.

According to the Russian system, if a person is sentenced twice in the space of six months, it is indeed up to the criminal justice to look into his case, which exposes him to much heavier legal consequences.

However, Marina Ovsiannikova has already been sentenced twice in July.

She had to pay two fines, the first of 50,000 rubles and the second of 40,000 rubles.

Russian justice must now decide whether this mother of two minor children will be remanded in custody or released before her trial.

A strengthened criminal arsenal against opponents of the war in Ukraine

Marina Ovsiannikova

became famous in mid-March

after appearing, in full newspaper, on the set of a pro-Kremlin television channel for which she worked.

During her speech, she carried a sign denouncing the offensive in Ukraine and the “

 propaganda

” of the media controlled by the power.

The images of his gesture went around the world.

Many people praised his courage, in a

context of repression

of any critical voice in Russia.

However, she is not unanimous within the Russian opposition, some still reproaching her for her years spent working for the Pervy Kanal channel, the Kremlin's mouthpiece.

Russia, which has already been engaged for many years in repressing voices critical of the Kremlin, has considerably toughened since the assault on Ukraine its criminal arsenal against those who denounce Russian power.
