Two men aged 48 and 52 were the subject of an immediate appearance before the criminal court of Melun (Seine-et-Marne) on Monday.

They were accused of having stolen the car of a 78-year-old woman in Cesson (Seine-et-Marne) three days earlier.

The owner then tried to stop them, says La République de Seine-et-Marne.

She had clung to the Twingo and had been dragged by the vehicle.

The septuagenarian affected in the ankle and suffering from dermabrasions had been prescribed 10 days of ITT and had been severely shocked.

The criminals had fled with the car but were spotted and arrested after hitting another car.

Confessions in custody

They had admitted the facts while in police custody.

The justice sentenced the two Chileans in an irregular situation to one year in prison.

On their release from detention, they will have to leave French territory.
