Since midsummer, the spread of the coronavirus has increased in Blekinge.

The number of inpatients has been higher than expected during the summer - and now there is also concern for the fall when people return to their jobs and schools after vacations and holidays.

- You can't go around worrying all the time, but it's clear that there is concern if we get an increased spread of infection.

Then there is always someone who gets hurt, above all among the risk groups, says Bengt Wittesjö, infectious disease doctor in Blekinge.

Many testimonies of illness

Blekinge's infection control doctor can state that the spread of infection is high, even though you cannot get a completely accurate picture after the general testing has ended.

Since last spring, only people who work in care and social care have been tested - in Blekinge it is about 10,000 people.

- They still make up a relatively representative part of the population.

Then you hear many testimonies that it is people who are sick, who therefore do not work in healthcare.

We have a relatively high spread of infection throughout society, says Bengt Wittesjö.

But do we need to worry about the fall?

And is it okay to shake hands?
