China News Service, August 10. According to the WeChat public account of the Chinese Consulate General in Almaty, the Consulate General in Almaty recently received several reports of Chinese citizens in the consular area being deceived into working in Kazakhstan and working with local employers. or domestic intermediaries for help in disputes.

Most of the parties are introduced by acquaintances or “black intermediaries”, and they come to Kazakhstan rashly without knowing the actual work content and relying only on verbal negotiation, and then they have disputes with their employers in the face of long working hours, high intensity, inconsistent treatment and verbal commitments, etc. , and due to problems such as language barriers, illegal identity, and no contractual guarantees, they cannot effectively protect their rights, nor can they return to China in time, causing losses to their own rights and interests.

The Consulate General reminds Chinese citizens who plan to work in Kazakhstan:

  01. Before going to Kazakhstan, please be sure to understand the situation of the employer or intermediary, confirm that they have legal qualifications, and then sign a labor contract with them, clarifying details such as salary, rights and responsibilities, and working period.

Don't listen to verbal promises or the so-called contract signing after going to Kazakhstan, otherwise, once a dispute or being deceived occurs, you will be in a passive situation, and it will be difficult to protect your rights and interests through legal means.

  02. After signing the contract, you can properly understand the local customs and laws and regulations in Kazakhstan in advance, and at the same time ensure that the employer or intermediary applies for a labor visa for you.

Except for green cards and labor visas, it is illegal to enter Kazakhstan to work with other types of visas or visa-free.

Before leaving, keep the labor contract, employer or intermediary information, including ID number, contact information, and the address of migrant workers in Kazakhstan, with family members in China, in case of emergency.

If your personal safety is threatened in Kazakhstan, you should seek help from the local police in time.
