More than 30 people in China have been infected with a newly identified virus from the same family as the deadly Nipah and Hendra viruses, although there is no evidence that the pathogen can be transmitted from person to person.

And the “Bloomberg” news agency reported that the virus called “Langia” was discovered thanks to an early detection system for people with fever who had recently had contact with animals in eastern China.

Among the symptoms of infection with this virus that appeared on the infected, most of whom are farmers;

Fatigue, cough, loss of appetite and pain, with many blood cell abnormalities and signs of liver and kidney damage.

No deaths have yet been recorded as a result of infection with the new virus.
