The attacks occurred on the Bourzanga/Djibo axis.
While a military unit of the 14th Combined Arms Regiment (RIA) was escorting a convoy, one of the vehicles carrying armed forces fighters jumped on an improvised explosive device.
"
It was a convoy of military personnel who had just been assigned to the 14th combined arms regiment of Djibo
", indicate our sources.
The attack occurred at the level of the locality of Namsiguia according to the staff of the armies.
While rescue operations and securing the rest of the convoy were taking place after the first attack, a second device exploded.
“
This second device was obviously activated remotely.
This caused many victims
, ”said a security source.
In addition to the loss of human life, material damage was recorded.
The staff immediately sent reinforcements to the scene to ensure the evacuation of the victims and the securing of the area.
Last Thursday, soldiers from the Bourzanga detachment and their civilian auxiliaries responded to an ambush by armed men in the same area, killing around thirty attackers.
